He is an expert in inflammatory bowel disease and hepatology and major in inflammatory bowel disease, translational applications of gut microbiota, and fecal microbiota transplantation. He has presided over 6 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, including 1 Key Project, and more than 10 projects of Applied Basic Research Projects of Yunnan Province Education. Meanwhile, he has published 47 full scientific articles in high-impact international journals as the first author or corresponding author, including 2 articles in Gastroenterology (2021, IF: 33.883), Cell Host & Microbe (2020, IF: 31.316), Microbiome (2022, IF: 16.837), Gut Microbes (2021, IF: 10.24) and Science Bulletin (2018, IF: 11.7), and edited 6 medical monographs.
